I was interested in this topic because I was interesting and wanted to know who was the first prime minister of New Zealand which was Henry Sewell. I find out some somethings about her mostly for who he was, where he's from and the important or main topics about Henry.
In the first article I read, I learnt that he was from united kingdom and came to New Zealand in 7th for september 1807. He came the prime minister of New Zealand in April the 15th in 1856 and also became colonial secretary on the 7th of may.
In the second article I read, I learnt that he’s was in MHR in Christchurch and New Plymouth 4 years in Christchurch and 8 months in Plymouth and as well as in MLC. He also did other things as well because he has done a lot of things.
In conclusion, I think this topic is important because Its raided it New Zealand and finding out who are first prime minister and all the things he has done that are important in hes live and the careers he did and he journey to come to New Zealand and the journey he had in New Zealand and being the first prime minister.
Hi Courtney
ReplyDeleteGreat topic! I've been reading about New Zealand history for many years but I never learnt about Henry Sewell until I read your work (and Jade's). Thanks for sharing your interesting learning.
I can work out that 'MHR" stands for Member of the House of Representatives, which is an old term. Now we talk about MPs, who are Members of Parliament.
Sewell was important for being New Zealand's first prime minister.
Who is our prime minister now, and what do you think she will be remembered for that is a first in New Zealand?
